| The
Music Education Resource Directory
is a branch-off from the business directory intially featured
on The
Music Education Madness Site. The idea for the directory
is to have a handy, all-in-one-place source for music educators
to quickly locate contact information for their favorite vendors,
to find deals and sales, or to locate new sources for materials
they need. As a music educator herself, the owner of this site
understands the need for a handy resource for comparison
shopping and finding all the resources needed for a well-rounded
curriculum, while meeting budgetary needs. Since the majority
of teachers now have fairly easy access to the Internet at school
or at home, The Music Education Resource Directory can be a
useful tool in finding the music education supplies, music education
professional development, and music education organizations
that a music specialist needs.
The idea
of having a handy resource is also the reason for our downloadable
database. With this, educators and students can have all the
contact information they want right at their fingertips, on
their computer or their PDA device.
The classifieds
section enables our sponsors to highlight certain products for
sale, and allows other musicians to resell their gently used
items. The discussion board also allows sponsors to highlight
events or items, and for educators and students to post a need
they might have. The calendar of events is a handy resource
to keep up on masterclasses, reading sessions, and other events
of importance to music educators.
We provide
many services for those companies who choose to include their
organizations in the Music Education Resource Directory's categorical
sections. Because we are directly intertwined with The
Music Education Madness Site, those in our category directory
enjoy exposure through links, referrals in articles, News and
Opinions, free posting on the message boards, and other references
on BOTH sites.
The Music
Education Madness Site was the first web creation to come from
Karen Stafford, former Owner and President of Noteworthy
CyberSolutions. Karen
is also an elementary music educator in Missouri, with 20 years
of experience in education ranging from being a high school
director, choral director, and elementary music specialist.
She is also the assistant theater director for her school district,
in charge of the music for musicals. Karen has been a musical
director for the youth theater group A
Three Fold Cord for seven years. Karen also serves as the
Early Childhood/Elementary Vice President for the Missouri Music
Educators Association.
